Enjoy a relaxing break on the English Riviera staying in Paignton. The 4 star Marine Hotel is situated on a level position, directly opposite the Seafront and a short walk to the town centre, you couldn't ask for a better located hotel. The hotel is airy, modern and light yet highly comfortable with warm and friendly staff and a family atmosphere. All bedrooms are fully en-suite with tea & coffee making facilities, individually furnished and decorated. A lift serves all floors but some rooms are also accessed by stairs after using the lift. Sea view rooms are available upon request which incurs a surcharge with all rooms being accessible via steps, evening entertainment is provided most evenings.
We make an early morning departure for the journey south with suitable refreshment stops along the way, arriving in plenty of time to freshen up before your evening meal.
Morning visit to Totnes with its attractive long high street and quirky alternative lifestyle in a delightful town. Followed by a one way train journey alongside the stunning River Dart to Buckfastleigh, where we visit Buckfast Abbey (free entry) church & grounds of this working monastey nestled in the shadow of Dartmoor.
Along the pretty coastline of Torbay to Dawlish, with its Georgian and Victorian architecture. Moving onto Teighmouth, steeped in maritime history, this working harbour boasts sandy beaches, a Victorian pier and interesting back streets to explore.
To enjoy the resort at your leisure, you may wish to have a walk on the pier, have a stroll along the seafront, enjoy a show, visit the zoo or have a journey on the Dartmouth Steam Railway just 5 minute's walk away from the hotel.
We bid a fond farewell to our hosts, departing the hotel after breakfast making the homeward journey back to Lincolnshire, with suitable comfort stops en-route.
